Ductless Mini-Split Installation North Little Rock, AR
The Right System. Sized Correctly. Installed Once.
There’s always that one space, the garage you actually use now, the addition that gets left out of the central system, the bonus room that’s 12 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. Central HVAC was never going to reach it well. A window unit works until it doesn’t. A ductless mini-split is the permanent, efficient solution, and most installations complete in a single day.
Infinity Services installs single-zone and multi-zone ductless systems throughout North Little Rock, Little Rock, Sherwood, Maumelle, Cabot, Jacksonville, and Conway.

The Specific Problems Mini-Splits Are Built to Solve
Mini-splits are not a replacement for your whole-home HVAC system in most cases. They are a precision tool for specific situations that central systems handle poorly, or can’t reach at all.
Where We Install Them Most Often in Central Arkansas
Garages and workshops — you’ve finished the space, added insulation, and now use it year-round. Running ductwork isn’t practical. A single-zone mini-split handles it cleanly with one small penetration through the wall.
Sunrooms and additions — newer construction attached to an older home often has no duct connection to the main system. A mini-split conditions the space independently without touching the existing system.
Bonus rooms and finished attics — HVAC airflow in upper floors of North Little Rock homes is often inadequate, especially in summer. A mini-split zones the problem space separately instead of fighting the whole-house system.
Historic homes without ductwork — dozens of older homes in the Heights, Hillcrest, and central North Little Rock neighborhoods were built without ductwork. Adding ducts requires major construction. Mini-splits provide full-home comfort with minimal wall penetration.
Home offices requiring independent temperature control — one person is always cold while the rest of the house runs warm. Separate zone, separate problem solved.
Rental units, guesthouses, and ADUs — independent comfort control without tying an add-on unit into the primary home’s system.
How a Ductless Mini-Split System Actually Works
A mini-split consists of two components: a compact outdoor compressor/condenser unit and one or more indoor air handlers mounted on the wall or ceiling. Refrigerant lines and an electrical connection run between them through a 3-inch hole in the wall. No ductwork required.
Each indoor air handler has an independent thermostat, either a remote control or a smart thermostat. Multiple indoor units can connect to a single outdoor unit in a multi-zone configuration, each controlled independently.
Every mini-split we install is a heat pump, it both cools in summer and heats in winter. In Central Arkansas’s climate, it operates efficiently through nearly every day of the year in both modes. You’re not installing a cooling-only system that requires separate heating.
Energy Efficiency in Real Terms
Modern mini-splits eliminate duct losses, which account for 25–30% of wasted energy in traditional forced-air systems. A properly sized mini-split typically costs noticeably less to operate than the window unit it replaces or the electric resistance heater it supplements.
High-efficiency systems, typically 20+ SEER2, qualify for the federal energy efficiency tax credit: up to 30% of equipment cost, capped at $600 per unit. Ask us about current qualification criteria when you cal
Single-Zone vs. Multi-Zone — What You Actually Need
Single-Zone Mini-Split One outdoor unit. One indoor air handler. Best for: garages, sunrooms, room additions, or any single space that needs independent conditioning. Typical installed cost in North Little Rock: $2,400 – $4,800 depending on system capacity and installation complexity.
Multi-Zone Mini-Split One outdoor unit. Two to four indoor air handlers in separate rooms, each controlled independently. Best for: older homes without ductwork needing full-home coverage, large additions, or multiple problem spaces requiring separate conditioning. Typical installed cost: $4,800 – $11,000+ depending on number of zones and system size.
These are starting ranges. The right number for your project comes after a site assessment, there are too many variables to quote accurately without seeing the space.
Brands We Install
What We Recommend and Why
Mitsubishi — the benchmark brand in ductless. Their Hyper-Heat systems are the quietest and most reliable option in the market. Best choice for bedrooms, offices, and any noise-sensitive installation.
Daikin — exceptional efficiency ratings, built to exacting tolerances. Excellent choice for homeowners prioritizing long-term operating cost.
Carrier — strong brand infrastructure, reliable performance, good local parts availability for service.
Lennox — high-efficiency product line with strong smart home integration. Good fit if you’re also working with a newer Lennox whole-home system.
Goodman — dependable, cost-effective, a solid choice for budget-priority installs where premium brand features aren’t required.
We’ll tell you which brand we’d put in our own home for your specific application. That’s not a marketing line — ask us directly and we’ll give you a direct answer.
What Ductless Installation Costs and What Affects the Price
Variables That Affect Your Specific Cost
- BTU capacity needed for the space (larger space = larger and more expensive system)
- Distance between indoor and outdoor units (longer line set = more material and labor)
- Difficulty of the refrigerant line run (through finished walls, around obstacles)
- Electrical supply requirements (some installations need a new dedicated circuit)
- Number of zones in a multi-zone configuration
- Brand and efficiency tier selected
We give you an exact, all-in price after the site assessment. No parts added later, no labor surprises.
What the Installation Day Looks Like
Most homeowners are surprised by how non-invasive mini-split installation actually is.
Morning: We mount the indoor air handler in the agreed location, typically 6–8 inches from the ceiling on an exterior wall. We mount the outdoor unit on a concrete pad or wall bracket at ground level or on the exterior wall.
Midday: We drill a single 3-inch hole through the wall to run the refrigerant lines, condensate drain, and electrical connection. We connect all components and pressurize the refrigerant system.
Afternoon: We charge the system, run it through both heating and cooling modes, verify refrigerant pressure and system performance, and clean up completely.
End of day: We walk you through operation, remote control, temperature settings, fan modes, sleep mode, and filter cleaning. Single-zone installs are almost always complete in one day.
Multi-zone systems may extend to two days depending on the number of indoor units and routing complexity. We’ll tell you before we schedule.
Questions Asked About Mini-Split Installation North Little Rock AR
Can a mini-split heat a garage in an Arkansas winter?
Yes, effectively. Modern mini-splits operate down to 5°F or lower in heating mode (some Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat systems to -13°F). Central Arkansas winters rarely approach those temperatures. A properly sized mini-split will heat an insulated garage reliably through every realistic winter weather event in Pulaski County.
How much does mini-split installation cost in North Little Rock?
Single-zone systems typically run $2,400 to $4,800 installed. Multi-zone systems start around $4,800 and go up depending on zone count and system size. We give you a specific number after the site assessment, the range is wide because capacity requirements, line set length, and electrical work vary significantly by project.
How long does installation take? Single-zone: one day in almost all cases.
Multi-zone: one to two days depending on the number of indoor units and how the line sets need to be routed.
Do mini-splits work well in old North Little Rock homes?
Yes. Older homes in North Little Rock, particularly those built before central HVAC was standard, are among the best mini-split candidates we work with. No existing ductwork means no duct condition concerns and no need to size a system around what the existing ducts can handle.
What maintenance does a mini-split require?
The homeowner task is cleaning the washable filter on the indoor unit every 4–6 weeks, a two-minute job. We recommend an annual professional check covering the outdoor unit, refrigerant pressure, and coil condition. We can include this in our bi-annual maintenance visit.
Can you also repair or service an existing mini-split? Yes.
If you have a mini-split installed by another company that needs service, diagnosis, or repair, bring us in. We service all major ductless brands.
